ELOUERA SPECIAL SCHOOL COOTAMUNDRA

Located in the country town of Cootamundra the Elouera Special School is an educational centre of excellence providing individualised supports to students with a disability from Kinder to Year 12.  The school is located in Scott Avenue, a quiet cul-de-sac near the retirement village and the Cootamundra High School.  Built on large grounds with room to expand, we have developed facilities that are second to none in the region. 

Providing individual tailored programs to all of its students in the Junior, Middle and Senior class rooms, Elouera Special school caters for students from Kinder Early Stage 1 to Year 12 Stage 6 Life Skills Curriculum and is fully registered with NESA.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Elouera Association Ltd is a registered NDIS provider. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to individuals living with a disability. As a registered provider, Elouera Association Ltd adheres to strict government quality and safety requirements, undergoing regular compliance audits. All staff hold appropriate qualifications and undergo NDIS worker screening checks and Working with Children checks.

Our services include the provision of secure shredding bins, which are collected and securely shredded when full. Upon request, a destruction certificate can be provided for your records.

Currently, we serve Cootamundra, Young, Temora, Harden, Boorowa, and surrounding areas.

Enrolments

Please make contact with our Head Teacher at the school on 02 6942 2064 or the Elouera Association Ltd Chief Executive Officer  on 02 6942 6586 either will discuss with you your child’s needs , our enrolment criteria and arrange a time for you to meet the school staff and tour our facilities.  If you like what you see we can commence the enrolment process. 

Facilities

We have five class rooms, a multi purpose hall (that can become a cinema) and multiple disabled toilets and personal care spaces.  Outside all areas are wheel chair accessible with a covered playground that even had a round-a-bout wheelchairs can ride on. 

We maintain the quality of the facilities with upgrades to the original 1970’s building brining it up to 2020’s standards.  Our school has dual solar systems to maximise the amount of self generated power reducing our carbon footprint. 

Education Program

Our School offers a high quality of education and supports to students with a disability from Kinder to Year 12.  Class room selection is based on age as well as ability and support needs.  Each student has their own individual education plan that is a balance between the curriculum requirements of NESA and that students goals and needs. 

The objective of our Life Skills Based program is to equip the student with the skills that will maximise their independence and opportunities in their post school years lives.
