In the Cootamundra CBD on Wallendoon Street we have the Elouera Laundry.  This is a shop front laundry that has both self serve machines available 7 days a week plus a full service laundry at the rear where you can have your laundry cleaned, dried and folded for you. 

We also operate a linen hire business on the site where we rent sheets, pillow cases, towels and face cloths to hotels and motels.

ELOUERA LAUNDRY

Coin Operated Laundry

Cootamundra’s first coin operated laundry open 7 days a week from 6:00am to 9:00pm. Modern Speed Queen washers and dryers make doing your own laundry easy. The machines are bigger than most domestic machines and we have one larger front loading machine for larger loads or bedding. our dryers will take the contents of two machines however the more you load the longer it takes to dry. Drying is with gas heating so its very efficient.

The Laundry Equipment

At the front of the shop we have the coin operated machines for the public to use, we keep these clean and empty the coin trays so its always a pleasant environment for our customers.

Behind this we have commercial washing machines and dryers where we do people washing and all of the linen hire items.  We even clean the football jerseys for many of the local sporting teams in winter.

In another section of our building we have our huge roller iron, the machine irons up to a king sized sheet and assists in the folding of it.  Fun fact, all of our sheets have different coloured stitching on them so you know just by looking at the colour if it’s a single, queen or king sheet. 

We have our own delivery truck for taking linen to the hotels and motels and a smaller vehicle for domestic deliveries. 

Domestic and Commercial Washing & Drying

Our business has a fully equipped commercial laundry at the rear with some of the best equipment around. We can cater for a single load to a full commercial property. A domestic service is available where your laundry is washed, dried and folded ready for pick up or for a fee delivered to your home. Commercial properties such as Hotels and Motels can be catered for or any other business such as Butchers and Sporting Clubs. The local football clubs love our service. Contact us to discuss your needs. We have a Linen Hire busines as well providing sheets, towels and washers etc to a select number of customer, unfortunatly we have to limit this service as we don’t have the room to store larger quantities of linen. Our Laundry uses many chemicals with each load using up to five to give amazing results, pre wash sprays are also used for those stains ordinarily you cant get out.

Why a Social Enterprise

A Social Enterprise is a business that supports the community with all benefits returning to that community.  The Elouera Association Ltd is a Not for Profit organisation and all profits from our laundry operations go back into new equipment or facilities at the laundry or other equally important Elouera Association Ltd operations.

Employee's

Our employee’s with a disability come from Cootamundra, Young, Temora Junee and Harden with many accessing work via Elouera Transport.  All employees are trained in the various aspects of the laundry including, loading and unloading washers and dryers, cleaning the various filters on the machines, folding the clothing, sheets and towels so they all look the same and using our huge roller iron. 

Employees with a disability are employed on a productivity based wage.  This means they can work to their ability and be paid the percentage of the award they can achieve.  So if someone can only preform half the required tasks at a slower rate, that’s OK, we calculate a wage based on that outcome.  There is no pressure on you to do more than your capable or comfortable to do.  This is a similar process to the Supported Wage Provision found in every award in Australia. 

Employees are supported by Disability Support Officers at the site who train guide and counsel them through their various challenges and towards their goals. 

 

 

The NDIS

Your support costs are covered by the NDIS, we can review your current plan to see if you have funding or assist you to have a change of circumstances review and have employment added to your plans goals.
