Disability Support Supervisor

(Employment and Training Supervisor)

The Employment and Training Supervisor is a hands on position that works with and trains people with a disability in Recycling at the newly upgraded recycling facility in Cootamundra. 

This position is based in our Cootamundra recycling plant and it involves co-ordination of the flow of works, liaising  with councils and their staff, organising loads to customers, supporting staff, overseeing and being involved in the training of people with a disability that work at Elouera Recycling. 

A typical day for the person in this position will involve organising the drop off of recycling in the appropriate hoppers, ensuring the recycling plant is running well and employees with a disability are being supported in their roles within the plant by Employment and Training staff.  Organising the dispatch of loads to customers and undertaking administration such as time sheets, banking and meeting records. 

All of these activities are done with a crew of people with a disability each of whom has an individual training plan that is developed and  implemented by training staff.  Disabilities may include intellectual, mild psychiatric and physical.  All Elouera Association employment staff are required to undertake training stipulated by the NDIS Quality Safeguards Commission and Elouera Association Management.  All staff are required to hold a current First Aide Certificate. 

Elouera Recycling is a division of the Elouera Association based in Cootamundra and this position reports to the Operations Manager and Chief Executive Officer.   


The work of the Employment and Training Supervisor requires a commitment to the Elouera Association and the organisations vision for the development of a better quality working life for people with disabilities.  The E&TS is required to exercise the utmost discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive and private information.


Wages and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award ($72,664 to $82,868) we also offer an attractive Salary Packaging option which will increase your disposable income.  All Employment and Training Staff will be required to attend training and may be require to work at other locations.

Work with and train employees with a disability.

Co-ordinate recycling plant operations and personnel to met these needs

Identify individual needs and training requirements of individuals and working with other staff create a workable action plan.

Co-ordinate appropriate workplace modification or changes in work practices to facilitate the employment of individuals with a disability.

Maintain a good understanding of the operation of the recycling plant in particular hydraulic press and conveyors.  .

Assist in the completion of the Wage Assessment System.

Work with and liaise with the customers and suppliers in their dealings with Elouera Association.

To propose changes and suggestions that will see improvements in the operation.

To undertake administrative functions of the position using a computer (Microsoft Office) and email, in a timely manner.

Carry out inspections and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment setting maintenance scheduleís or advising when trades persons are required for repairs or maintenance.

Work with other staff and employee's in maintaining the grounds in a tidy and safe condition.

To ensure workplace is safe and all safety equipment is in good order and utilised by everyone. 

To represent the Elouera Association in a positive way at all times and assist in the marketing and public image of the Association.

To understand and be committed to the NDIS Quality Safeguard Commissions standards.  .
