EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OFFICER - FULL TIME
The Employment and Training
Officer is a hands on position that works with and trains people with a
disability in the area of Recycling, Transfer Station Operations and Weighbridge
operations at the Gate. This position is based in our Young operations.
A current MR drivers licence is essential and the ability to gain Bobcat
and Forklift licences.
A typical work day for the
person in this position will involve driving one of our side lift recycling
trucks (Wheelie Bin) bringing materials collected back to the Recycling Plant.
Working with and training people with a disability in weighbridge operations,
money handling, sorting & pressing up of recyclables and transfer station
operations, bobcat and forklift operations and yard duties.
All of these activities are
done with a crew of people with a disability each of whom has an individual
training plan that is developed and implemented by training staff.
The Elouera Recycling,
Business Service is a division of the Elouera Association based in Cootamundra
and this position reports to the Employment and Training Supervisor at the
Recycling Depot in Young and receives support from other staff such as the
Chief Executive Officer, Manager Operations and Human Resources Officer when
required.
Wages and conditions are
based on the SAC’S Award NAPSA . Current Wages are $34,792.00 - $39,210.00 per annum. All Employment and Training Staff will be required to attend
training and achieve their Workplace Trainer Certificate IV. The Elouera
Association (Inc) will cover the costs of this training and allow time during
working hours for this.

EXPERIENCE
/ KNOWLEDGE:
-
Work with
and train employees with a disability in recycling works.
-
Identify individual needs
and training requirements of individuals and working with other staff create a
workable action plan.
-
Co-ordinate
appropriate workplace modification or changes in work practices to facilitate
the employment of individuals with a disability.
-
Maintain a good
understanding of the operation of the Recycling Plant.
-
Assist in
the completion of the Program and Assessment System.
-
Work with and liaise with
the public in their dealings with the Recycling Plant and the Waste Disposal
Site .

To propose
changes and suggestions that will see improvements in the operation

Carry out inspections and
maintenance of all equipment or advise when trades persons are required for
repairs or maintenance.

Work with
other staff and employee's in maintaining the grounds in a tidy manner.

To understand, and follow
all policies of the Elouera Association (Inc).

To ensure
workplace is safe and all safety equipment is in good order and utilised by
everyone.

To represent the Elouera
Association (Inc) in a positive way at all times and assist in the marketing
and public image of the Association.

To
transport employee's in a safe manner at all times

To understand and be
committed to the Disability Service Standards and Continuous Improvement
Principals.

The work of
the Employment and Training Officer requires a commitment to the Elouera
