The Elouera Centre - Cootamundra
Community Access Officer (Part Time)
The Community Access Officer is a hands on role working
with people with a disability at the Elouera Centre located at 76 Wallendoon
Street, Cootamundra. At this location we operate a Community Participation
Program and Independent Living program as well as some in home supports.
These programs are based on meeting the needs of the individuals attending,
assisting them to achieve personal goals and maximising their involvement in the
A typical work day for the
person in this position will involve picking up and dropping off service users
from their homes in an Elouera Centre vehicle, undertaking activities such as
swimming, shopping, attending the library, work experience activities, riding
for the disabled, going to the gym, trips to the movies, other towns and parks
and much more.
Staff will also assist in the development of individual
plans, provide group and one on one training and make file notes and assessments
on the effectiveness of this training. To support these activities there
will be some training required however you may need to
study in your own time.
Staff working at the Elouera Centre are required to assist
people with a severe disability in meeting their personal needs such as eating,
toileting and bathing. As a result you
will be required to pass a full police and NDIS Workers Check.
This work can also be very physical and you need to be fit and healthy and able
to bend and lift freely.
The Elouera Centre is funded by the NDIS and each person
attending has an individual Service Agreement. We meet the NDIS Quality
Safeguards program requirements. Staff will need to commit fully
to these requirements.
Wages and conditions are based on the Social, Community
Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. Current Wages commence at
$62,872.00 or $31.73 per
hour (Pro Rata for Part Time Staff). You will receive the full entitlements of your award including
annual leave, sick leave and Long Service Leave etc. All
Day Services Staff will be required to
maintain a current first aide certificate and undertake ongoing training to
improve their skills. The Elouera
Association will cover the costs of this training and it will be conducted
both at work and in your own time. All new staff will commence on a six month
Community Access Staff must maintain a level of fitness
that allows them to undertake all tasks and the ability to drive.
